While Wilson first announced that she was starting her fitness journey in 2020, she actually lost some weight while filming Cats.
In one interview with Entertainment Tonight, Wilson said that she lost 8 pounds in 4 days when they were shooting the film.
The reason behind this goes back to the high temperature in the set (up to 100°F), which aimed to keep the musculoskeletal systems of the dancers hot in order to prevent injury (note that an injury in this field means you’re out of the move).
No sugar or junk food
The first rule that Wilson set when she began her journey back in January was to avoid junk food and sugar while drinking more water.

The Mayr Method
The Mayr Method is a restrictive program that targets gastrointestinal health and microbiome to improve general well-being and promote weight loss. According to People, Wilson had the idea of following the Mayr Method after visiting a medical detox center in Austria.

The detox mixture used in this diet contains sugar and caffeine; you are also not allowed to snack or chew your food fast (you need to do it at least 40-60 times before swallowing).

In January, Jono Castano Acero (Wilson’s trainer) shared a video displaying the actress working hard and added the caption that Wilson works out 7 days a week.
The video also gave us a glimpse of the type of exercise Wilson was doing by showing her grabbing the ropes and slamming them on the floor. This serves to strengthen the arms and enhance cardiovascular health.

Acero also said that he suggested to Wilson 10,000 steps per day as her goal, which leads to considerable calorie expenditure, especially in the long run. On her Instagram, the actress confirmed this statement by regularly sharing pictures of her doing outdoor walks.
Boxing and flipping tires
Wilson likes to take her workouts up a notch by flipping large tires and boxing. According to the actress, these are the two major ways to challenge her body into burning more calories and getting in shape.
